Raised Garden Beds FAQs

What is the difference between cedar and Cypress?
Cypress is slightly more dense than cedar. They are comparable concerning rot and insect resistance lasting 7-10 years.
How long do raised beds last?
7-10 years
How to prepare the raised bed for winter?
Remove any weeds or dead plants. Cover your raised beds with a few inches of compost in the fall. There is no need to dig in the compost: simply lay it over the top of the soil. As the compost breaks down over winter, it will slowly leach nutrients down into the soil.

About Raised Garden Beds

Raised garden beds are easier to plant, weed, water, and harvest than in-ground beds. Above-ground beds also produce bigger & better yields in a smaller space than traditional garden rows (not to mention that they’re easier on your back and knees). Use our Kitchen Garden Planner's square foot gardening technique for fantastic results in your raised bed garden....

Whether you’re looking for an elevated planter for your patio, an extra deep raised garden bed to grow deep-rooted plants, or a self-watering raised bed to make things a little easier on yourself, we’ve got something that will work for every space and every price point.

Our wide selection of raised beds come in a variety of sizes and materials, including metal beds made from powder-coated and Corten steel, wood beds made from naturally rot-resistant cedar and cypress, and a variety of raised beds made with composite materials.

And if your big ambitions have you thinking outside the planter box, you can supply your own wood and build a raised garden bed in any length, height, or shape, with our Lifetime raised bed corners, in-line connectors, and pivoting connectors, made from long-lasting industrial-grade aluminum
