KidsGardening.org
For the last 40 years, KidsGardening.org has been changing kids' lives through gardening. Supporting a wide community of parents and educators, KidsGardening improved the lives of 3.1 million kids in 2022!
Intervale Center
A dynamic non-profit in Burlington, VT, the Intervale Center implements innovative, replicable, and place-based solutions to address some of global agriculture's most pressing problems. Transforming the food system from one that is degrading, anonymous, and industrial to one that is restorative, familiar, and human-scale, the Intervale Center is working to foster a local food economy that is good for people and planet.
American Community Gardening Association
The AGCA links gardens, resources, and people across the U.S. and Canada — from family allotments and tiny pollinator pocket parks, to school gardens and urban farms — in order to advance community gardening and greening, build community, and improve food security.
Vermont Community Garden Network
VCGN leads the state's garden movement by educating, supporting, and connecting gardeners. VCGN believes in the power of people growing food together to strengthen food security, promote food justice, and build community.
Mental Health America
Mental Health America (MHA) is the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and promoting the overall mental health of all. MHA’s work is driven by its commitment to promote mental health as a critical part of overall wellness and providing useful tools to increase mental health awareness including MHA’s innovative mental health screening program
Howard Center
The Howard Center helps the citizens and communities of Chittenden County, VT thrive by providing support and services to address mental health, substance abuse, and developmental needs.
Vermont Food Bank
The Vermont Foodbank is the state's largest hunger-relief organization, providing nutritious food through a network of more than 300 community partners — food shelves, meal sites, senior centers, after-school programs, schools, and hospitals. A member of Feeding America, the Vermont Foodbank provides about 12 million pounds of food annually to people throughout Vermont.
AmpleHarvest.org
A unique nationwide resource, AmpleHarvest.org is eliminating food waste — reducing hunger and malnutrition, and improving the environment. Their aim is to connect America's 61 million gardeners with one of the 8,731 registered local food pantries nationwide and donate their excess harvest. Your extra veggies will help them nourish one out of six Americans (including a quarter of all kids under six).
Central Texas Food Bank
The Central Texas Food Bank believes everyone should have access to nutritious food. The Food Bank is on the front line of hunger relief helping nearly 75,000 Central Texans each week access nutritious food through a network of about 300 partners, like food pantries and mobile food pantries. Though headquartered in Austin, the Food Bank Serves 21 counties in Central Texas—an area about twice the size of Massachusetts. They also help people access nutritious food and promote healthy eating habits through social services program and nutrition education courses.
Sustainable Food Center
Serving the Austin and Central Texas region, the SFC is on a mission to cultivate a just and regenerative food system so people and the environment can thrive. The SFC's work supports local, small to mid-sized farms, increases access to healthy, local food, and provides education and resources to help individuals and families maintain a healthy diet.
